UCI Mountain Bike World Championships

The UCI Mountain Bike World Championships date back to 1990 in Durango, Colorado (USA), where the first edition featured cross-country Olympic and downhill. The 2026 edition, held from 26 to 30 August in Val di Sole, Italy, awarded 17 rainbow jerseys across five formats: cross-country Olympic, short track, team relay, E-mountain bike cross-country and downhill. Cross-country marathon (XCM) has had its own world championships since 2004, except in 2023, when it joined the UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, and in 2025, when it was part of the Mountain Bike World Championships in Valais.
